Arlington, VA – A solo show in the Focus Gallery, “Screaming Babies” features large portraits with a close-up view of raw emotion. Linda Lowery has been painting and drawing crying babies for the past five years in a loose, expressionistic style using bold color. Whatever feelings they evoke, they’ll grab your attention and you won’t soon forget these images.



All-media national juried show which explores this powerful color, used by artists to attract attention, express emotion or interpret a feeling. Historically, RED in art was associated with sacrifice, danger and courage. But messages and connotations change with time and modern RED is the color of love, heat, passion, violence, anger or joy.

  • Our March Show is coming down tomorrow, and our new shows for April will be hung on Monday! "Spring Light" is our show in the Focus Gallery: There’s a special quality to natural light in the spring season that is not seen at any other time of the year. Sometimes delicate, sometimes strong, spring light warms the spirit and is well worth celebrating after a long, cold winter. Come join us for a breath of spring!

    Stop in and see us, and be sure to come to the First Friday opening reception on April 3 for this show and our April all-member show in the main gallery. The reception will be from 5-8PM. Wine, refreshments, and a chance to meet the artists! See you there!
