I paint primarily in oils. My paintings are usually inspired by my loves of travel and nature, although sometimes a great meal or glass of wine will also inspire. Each painting reflects the various moods in which I find myself when painting – at peace, in a search for activity, sometimes awestruck by a beautiful sight. Many of my paintings showcase the vivid colors of our world, in the city, in the countryside, on the water, and even at the kitchen table.
I began painting in the evenings, as a mental escape from my day job as a corporate lawyer. Now that I have “retired” from the practice of law, I am able to paint during the day and am able to make use of the endless varieties of natural light.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I have been living in Arlington, Virginia for most of my adult life. My work is displayed at various venues in Arlington, where I am a member of the Arlington Artists’ Alliance. When not painting, I spend as much time as possible with my school age children.
