Gallery Underground is seeking an intern for Summer 2014 to work on several projects. We are looking for motivated and ambitious individuals who are interested in a career in art or gallery management. Must be available from mid-June though mid-August.
Gallery Underground is a cooperative Arlington Artists Alliance gallery, located in Crystal City, Arlington, VA, just outside Washington D.C. promoting the works of established and emerging regional artists. Our mission is to make regional fine art accessible to the public through monthly exhibits, special events, classes and workshops.
Intern responsibilities will include working on projects, such as assisting with the planning and marketing for an upcoming special event.
Skills preferred: Excellent computer skills, graphic design, event planning, marketing. Candidates should have completed or be in the process of completing a BA in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Marketing or other art-related field. Must bring own laptop with graphic design software.
This is a paid position offering a stipend. 16 hours per week (two 8-hour days) for a total of up to 128 hours for the summer. Schedule can be tailored to Intern’s needs, but will need to be same two days between Mon and Fri every week.
