Mosaic artist Penelope Albritton lives, works and creates art in Northern Virginia. She is an avid cyclist and outdoor enthusiast. Penny’s fascination with mosaic art began in childhood during visits to the National Cathedral where the striking Resurrection Chapel is lined with mosaics. She is intrigued by pattern and repetition of forms, as well as the miracle of combining fragments of material to create a new whole. Penny’s mosaics are generally abstract in style and explore contrasts of color, texture, and materials, ranging from the more traditional glass and stone to found and recycled objects like rubber tires and plastics.
Penny is a member of the Arlington Artists Alliance and The Art League.
